Accommodations
Hotel Reservations online are closed. Please contact OlivaTours at acla@olivatours.com if you still need hotel accommodations.
We are using a number of relatively small hotels in the historic heart of Puebla, which offer a range of prices. All hotels but one (see below) are located within a four block radius of the zócalo, or main plaza. We have included our own Lonely-Planet-style narratives, as well as web site addresses, so that you may survey your hotel options.
Meetings will be held in the four conference hotel headquarters listed below, with other options following. With all hotels besides the Hotel Colonial, you must reserve and pay in advance by February 15 on the ACLA Conference Registration secure site. If you wish to extend your stay, or arrive before the conference dates, group rates will be honored if you reserve and pay on the ACLA website before February 15.
Even if you intend to share a room and split the cost, only one person can use his/her credit card to pay for the room. Receipts will be sent by e-mail from the ACLA. If you are not the person who has used your credit card to pay for the room on the ACLA website, please make a copy of the ACLA e-mail receipt from your roommate, along with a copy of the check with your half of the payment to your roommate. Your name will appear on the receipt as sharing the room, if entered on the Conference Registration form. This will be sufficient for reimbursement purposes or tax records.
The four conference hotels have free wireless connection in the public areas and/or internet connection in the rooms, as does the CityExpress Puebla. In all but two of our hotels, breakfast is included (as noted below). Mexican lunch time is 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, so a hearty breakfast is recommended.
Cancellation date with full refund is March 15. Cancellation Policy: In the event that you must cancel your trip to Puebla, you will receive a full refund until March 15 for whatever you have paid for online excepting membership in the ACLA (ie, hotel, bus, banquet, and/or registration.) After March 15, we will be unable to provide refunds. To request a refund, contact info@acla.org.

A local landmark and one of the oldest hotels still in operation in Mexico, the Colonial is also a favorite with locals because of their excellent Puebla style cuisine. Many rooms have charming details, such as the creative use of ancient azulejo tiles and other antiques that tell of the hotel’s long history. The hotel is located right across a pedestrian walkway from the University of Puebla’s main administration building, the ultra-baroque (Churrigueresque) “Carolino,
